I initially thought this was something where you can only either add it to e.g. Apple Pay or enter the card number manually somewhere. IMO, there are enough places around in the US that either don't support contactless payment or insist on running your card for you that I wouldn't be comfortable without a physical card as a backup.

Anyway, for those who are unfamiliar with them, Cardless seem to have several cobranded sport team cards, including the Pelicans as mentioned above. And yes, they seem to still send physical cards automatically per the FAQ.
