Dallas has been having neighborhood meetings for a proposed Northwest HWY entrance over Bachman to ease the Lemmon and Mockingbird traffic. A city representative said no additional gates would be added. I live in Bluffview just east of Lemon Ave and south of Northwest HWY.
I saw the runway being repaired recently. However, all airports have to do this on occasion. One Runway won't significantly affect their operations, plus it's only temporary and done once every what, 20 years?
Look at the operations of LGW, SAN, etc and the amount of traffic they can move being one-runway airports.
