GadgetFreak: what is your existing wireless hardware at home? 802.11a/b/g? What manufacturer?

I'm curious to know how well it works when you are at home, especially with non-Apple hardware. I'm considering buying one as well, but I have heard they have problems acting as a "range extender" to some non-Apple access points. Please let us know when you've had a chance to try it out at home.
