Samsung Wallet was just announced, and it, of course, looks to be more competent than Google Pay. A shame the overall Pixel experience is so great. I'd love to experience Samsung Wallet. Sammy's app probably allows use of campus IDs with the screen off :/
Honestly, long press of the power button to get to your Google Pay cards is pretty good. You only need to deal with the app itself to add and remove them, and that should hopefully not be too common.
Their management does have the typical Google "let's try everything until it maybe starts to stick and then cancel it" vibe, though, which doesn't help adoption.
