I agree, idk about everyone else but as someone who flies 90% for leisure, the status match has definitely pushed me to fly with F9 much more and take trips I probably wouldn’t have. Never flew F9 before the status match but now they’re the only airline I have booked flights with at the moment…as a leisure traveller it’s hard to get airline status so matching with hotels is super generous. Hard to pass up a $40 flight in an extra legroom seat compared to a $200 similar flight on AA/UA or WN (with no assigned seat). I know I’m not representative but without the match I would not be flying F9 at all and I hope they see the value in that.
Same here. Never would have flown F9 without the status match. I now believe F9 loyalty program, especially 100k elite, give the most bang for the buck so I want to keep it. Just hope the bean counters at Spirit keep their stingy hands off the program.
