Wife did not want to stay for an extra day. My only option was a downgrade from Polaris business to AA economy. 1K agent did not want to book us on Delta, which departed from the same terminal, T1, but AA flight departed from T4 satellite. Shuttle bus and then train took us there.

There was no advanced notification. We did the flight change at an airport lounge.

Is there any ground for complaining about this?

BTW, AA flight will hopefully arrive at final destination at the original UA flight arrival time. We are waiting for our flight at JFK.
I guess an option was to get a new wife, keep the UG, take the next day flight and receive EU 261 😀
