I just completed a one night stay here. It's definitely a business hotel, but the rooms are modern; not joyless like a comparable property that hasn't been renovated in 15 years. I really liked the hotel layout. It felt like a new Regency.
I was upgraded to a suite on a high floor. I was given two $15 gift cards to Roanoke, the restaurant around the corner. I would describe it as an all day bistro, starts off as a coffee shop in the morning, ends as a bar at night. There is indeed free breakfast for all in a room that feels like a concierge lounge in a hotel. Unfortunately they pull breakfast at 9, and it was gone when I walked in at 9:09. Every member of staff I interacted with was friendly.
All in all, a great value for Globalists considering how low rates are in Chicago right now. I chose to stay here over an airport hotel when I was stranded overnight, and I'd do it again. You're a 3 minute walk to the Blue Line.
