Disembarking through rear door - new policy?

Three of my my last five domestic LHR arrivals this year have required buses, which isn't normally a problem because you get dropped off right under the domestic exit gate. However, all three have used the rear door to disembark. I also had this at AMM in November, and at OTP in both December and January. I don't think I've disembarked from the rear door on more than a handful of occasions in decades, and suddenly it seems to happening almost every time. OTP was blamed on jetty being an obstacle (fair enough). LHR seems to be a new policy?

12 rows of CE arriving from EDI last night on what was obviously a very busy weekend, and not only were CE a very distant last to disembark in this system but the lack of buses resulted in being kept waiting while the cabin crew and flight desk secured the aircraft and joined us on the same bus. I'd be happy to wait for the staff bus if it meant staff travel prices but being a 6 Nations weekend it was an eye-wateringly expensive ticket. (Service was an utter shambles too but that's another matter). There was also a period with a dozen of us standing on the steps in fairly high winds awaiting the final bus, resulting in the pantomime of crew calling passengers back into the aircraft.

Anyone else getting the rear door treatment all the time?
