Finally getting around to posting about the trip to the W Reserva Conchal. Lovely property. Very spread out on the hillside above a gorgeous beach. Reception was absolutely wonderful and quick with a welcome drink. Titanium status was acknowledged. Our SNA upgraded room was on the 5th floor of one of the towers higher up the hill. Western corner unit so great sunset views. Note that the cove the resort is on faces more north so sunset is over the ridged headland to the west rather than over the water. It's a gorgeous "Lion King-esque" sunset though. Standard W room size with a balcony. The large couch between the bed and the balcony might not be the best use of space, but perhaps is more useful on rainy season afternoons. The shower opens to the balcony as well as to the bathroom, allowing you to admire the view as you shower. This also allows whoever is on the balcony to ummm...admire the view into the shower. Despite being a fairly new build resort, TP still goes in the bin, rather than the toilet. My partner had never been to CR before and wasn't aware of that. The maintenance person who came to fix it was very understanding though. Golf carts run loops between the towers, the reception area/ upper pool and the lower pool/beach club for those that want a ride. We just walked though, as it's not that far. I chose the breakfast as my welcome amenity and it was very nice. An assortment of breads, parfaits and fruits buffet style with hot options including the omelet stations served by staff from behind the plexiglass. All quite tasty. We ate breakfast lunch and one dinner at the resort and the food was excellent. Our one on-resort dinner was ceviche night, which was pricey but AYCE. Our other dinners were taken in town, which is a 15 minute walk down the beach. A very dark walk at night once you get past the Westin, or the tour desk at the resort can arrange a shuttle for $10 rt. If you have a car, the drive takes about as long as the walk. They also have scheduled buses to Tamarindo. The resort offers several "Bonvoy Elite Experiences". We did the Coffee Tasting and the Mixology class. The former was ok, but primarily a sales pitch to get you to order coffee shipped to your home. It worked and we did. The Mixology class was awesome. So much fun, so tasty. Their cocktail program is amazing. Smoked G&T with the tonic infused with local botanicals anyone???? We didn't eat at L10N, which is the flagship dining venue, as they do a meat heavy set menu. Other guests raved about it though. The two pools are nice, the upper one being adults only. They do have DJ's at the pools. Definitely the Dayclub vibe you'd expect from a W pool, though the volume could be just a tiny bit lower to allow both pool dancing and conversation.
The staff were absolutely amazing. We were there over my partners birthday and we mentioned it at check in. At breakfast that day, they brought her a giant "Birthday waffle" complete with ice cream. A few hours later, they delivered a beautiful birthday cake topped with Macarons to the room. Staff members we passed while walking around the resort would wish her a happy birthday. Covid testing to return home was quick and easy to set up in the hotel meeting rooms. Results were back within 6 hours. Resort fee includes SUP and kayak use, highly recommended! If I have to criticize anything at all, it would be the minor quibble that when I went into the gift shop by reception and asked if they had a watersports protective case for my phone, the clerk said no, they didn't have anything like that. It wasn't until we were about to lave that I noticed there was another gift shop by the lower pool that had exactly what I was looking for.

Bottom line, a pricey but beautiful resort with great staff and excellent Bonvoy Elite treatment. A great use of points and SNAs.
