BA website can’t find flights that exist when rebooking

Hi,

Has this happened to anyone else? BA cancelled flights. Asks you to rebook on different dates. Can’t find flights that exist when you book the flights from scratch. Says there is no availability on the day selected (there’s zero availability on ANY date selected). What’s going on? It’s not like I have been too impressed with BA’s tech during the pandemic!

Also, how can you be nominated as authorised to speak to BA about a flight for someone else? The above is about the continuing saga of the flights I booked for my mother last year that kept being cancelled.

Other than Facebook, my mother doesn’t really do the internet. She and my dad (who passed away last year) used to book everything through travel agents located about 100 yards from their home… who also solved all their problems if ever there were any. They never had to sit there listening to BA hold music for an hour and then talk to a random operator in an Indian call centre who’s more interested in process than service.

So I’m trying to do this for her, but the call centre then warbles about me not being authorised to speak to them. How do PAs do it then?!? My mother and I are in different countries, so I can’t just pass on the phone to her.

Thanks in advance!
