Doesn't hurt to test things as long as you have a friendly CSR and you don't mind the headache of having to call and unblock the card.

This definitely is a new USB development but it seems like a good one. However I am stiill kinda disappointed in the way USB assigns their card numbers which can easily still be hackable before first use prompting you to file a replacement card which can take 7-14 business days. I tried something new today and opened a 2 new cards at the store and called USB customer service to check and confirm if the 16 card number has ever been attempted for a transaction. Sure enough the USB customer rep confirmed that 1 card was compromised since Dec 23rd so I chucked it aside away from where anyone can buy this card and the other card is fine which is the one I bought.
I think this is going to be new MO before buying USB VGCs is to pre open the card packages at the store and confirm that the cards I am going to buy do not have any attempted transactions to save the headache.
