There are very mixed views. Some say that with the 10% service charge on everything tipping is covered, some say tipping is still a must. One thing to be aware of, the salary structure for people in the Maldives is not set in the US concept of service industry salaries.

Personally, unless they went really above and beyond, I don't tip in the Maldives. In the end you have to do what feels right for you.
