I'm sure that the school has access to legal services, but I'm not sure we would have a case here given the company's TOS. It is indeed a package tour and I'm sure the issue lies with the price that they budgeted for flights and the prices the airlines quoted them however they told me that the reason was because there are no seats which just seems blatantly incorrect as the seats exist (albeit maybe not at the price they want). Overall I'm just very annoyed with the situation since we thought we were paying for one day and full air transport, but ended up getting neither. I assume I'm SOL though given their TOS... (also just a side question, in theory these companies could book whichever flights they wanted if seats existed and price was no object, correct?)
To what extent is this an official school function? It sounds like the teacher/organizer didn't consult with the school's legal services before signing the contract.
