Assuming your profile is current, doesn't your AA Platinum Card get you into oneworld lounges in lots of places, even if you fly Coach?
About Priority Pass, it works pretty well, although like said above, the lounge(s) to which you have access may not be anywhere near your gate (and in some cases not accessible if in a different terminal).
