Best program for LON based reward travel without YQ/YR

(apologies in advance if this is asked and answered. Spent a while searching first and nearly all discussion on yq/Yr is US focused..)

Brief version is:
I'm BA gold. Travel biz to us and (once open) China approx monthly. Obviously not done this for a bit, but looks like we are opening our travel policy up. Rather than automatically sticking to BA thinking of looking at options as I am fed up of reward flights costing a fortune (family of 4) due to YQ. from what I can see one world, delta/virgin are just as bad. But star alliance maybe better?
Anyone have experience / advice here?
