Keeping it open also gets a pay check in the hands of people that probably did not work in over a year. That is a good thing.
Anyone who wants to work in the hotel industry and has basic qualifications would have zero difficulty getting a job right now in NYC. The problem is entirely in the other direction.
This place was a run-down dump that wasn't even trying pre-covid and it's obviously gotten worse.
