Yes I don't see why not but the StR didn't reply to me even I called them up asking for a quick response to my email on above issue... even I spent more than 20mins on the line.

I have decided to switch my flight from QR to EK adding a stopover at DXB to explore the Al Maha before heading to the Maldives.
Unfortunately I couldn't wait to see Qatar government's further actions as most of the flight fares in J around MLE had gone through the roof already.
