It seems that you’re not a tea or coffee drinker. Most Western European and North American guests would expect a coffee maker (or at the very minimum a kettle) just like they’d expect shampoo, soap, a hair dryer, an iron and ironing board, etc. They’re just basic amenities in a hotel.
Speaking of which, I visited NYC for the first time in December, and I had a bit of a culture shock that several hotels I stayed at (Hyatt and Marriott) didn’t provide toothbrushes and toothpaste! (most were able to provide one on request though).
Is it a NYC thing? A USA thing? A covid thing? Genuinely curious.
