Austrian Airlines app becomes a digital travel companion

Modern design, simple operation and comprehensive information – the revised Austrian App, which is now available free of charge for Android (from version 5) and iOS (from version 13), offers new and useful features along the entire travel chain. The Austrian App was developed together with customers. In addition to the optimised, clear design, passengers benefit from numerous new functions with added value. After downloading the new app or updating the Austrian app already installed, a digital travel companion is available to accompany customers from booking through check-in to landing. “By adding new features, we want to optimise our digital touchpoints and make it as easy and pleasant as possible for customers to access our services for an all-round relaxed flight,” says Austrian Airlines Chief Sales Officer Michael Trestl.

Since last summer, the entire route network of the Lufthansa Group can be booked via the new booking platform at austrian.com. The entire range of flights offered by Austrian Airlines, Brussels, Eurowings, Eurowings Discover, Lufthansa and SWISS can now also be selected easily and conveniently via the Austrian App. This also applies to additional services such as baggage bookings or seat reservations. The new app not only offers an overview of the booking made, but also accompanies passengers throughout the entire travel chain and proactively provides relevant information needed at the time of the flight. For example, passengers are informed of flight schedule changes via push notifications and receive real-time information such as the status of their luggage from drop-off to pick-up or have access to the Austrian Melangerie and eJournals. In addition, it is constantly being expanded with further practical features and products. In the coming months, for example, it will also be possible to carry out digital document checks or redeem flight value vouchers on the move.

Those who are already registered on austrian.com can log into the new app with this profile. It is also possible to log into the Austrian App with a Miles & More profile. This means that all bookings made via third-party providers such as travel agencies can be automatically transferred to the Austrian App.
