My take is that Row 1 is fine for knee room, but if you want to stretch your legsI'd recommend the exit rows, as you can tuck your feet under the seat in front. The bulkhead prevents you from doing this in Row 1.

I'm 6'8"/2m+ and I'll happily sit in row 1 for a 1-1.5hr flight; longer than that I'll opt for exits.
