I don't disagree (and it's not the topic of the thread) that cases for surface transmission of the virus causing COVID-19 are very low, presumably because it's much more difficult to prove the source of infection than it is to confirm the infection itself; this did remind me of a story I read relatively early in the pandemic from New Zealand where a quarantine hotel worker was said to have caught it and was traced back to a bin lid (soon after a similar case with an elevator button): https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/...ovid-infection

(Now, it could be that the air inside in these places was lousy with droplets, too, but it just did make me think).

COVID aside and back on topic - for any cabin to have items left over from a previous passenger is poor form, let alone on a long haul aircraft (which should be more thoroughly cleaned), especially in a premium cabin such as Club or First.
Agree that the "enhanced cleaning" announcement has always had me cringe while usually looking at torn/used dettol wipes packets in the seatback in front of me.
