Consider taking the circle bus. If you won't have a car for your trip then you'll get to see parts of the island you wouldn't have otherwise. I think it's only a buck or so. Timed correctly you could watch the sun set. The concierge should be happy to store your bags, or you may be able to check them in at the airport and go on your merry way.
