I haven't seen or experienced hostility following the aircraft coming to a halt but I would welcome the removal of the policy.

The more people that have a sense of urgency to get off the aircraft and expedite themselves (e.g. standing up, contorting themselves, ready with their luggage) the better I say. No one wants to be on an aircraft any longer than they have to (with some exceptions).

The Singapore Airlines way with the COVID theatre of prioritising certain flights first (with people dotted all around the aircraft) is worse and overly thought through.
