I’ve been on a few million miles of international flights where one or more travel party members left out the passports’ middle name(s) and it’s not been a trip stopper. If the first and last name are common names (or part of common names) and not a rare combination, then at check-in there may be some greater chance that a swipe of the passport result in the check-in agent pulling up the wrong itinerary. So make sure to have your record locator and printed itinerary handy and double check to make sure they give you the right boarding pass and check your luggage to the right destination.
