Yes it's all a bit sloppy. Wouldn't be so bad if the final cost always worked out cheaper than the previous one shown right enough.
Its is not just sloppy it is borderline fraud. Flights one way from Brazil to London are shown between £160 to £300 in taxes when you book it online but when you call them its £8 on taxes etc.
BA is fully aware of that but they have not changed it for years now. I wonder how many people are paying all that money for no reason.
