I just ran queries on EF and ITA matrix and saw 6+ seats Z class on married AF flights. Called and got 'ticketing desk' help and agent saw no availability on one of the flights. There occasionally is phantom or ghost inventory in EF. I had it happen to me today. But there is a way to verify it. Once you find the inventory in EF, try to look up the exact itineray using ITA Matrix for the number of people in your party. If ITA can price it in Z class on AF metal, the inventory should be real. In my case, MRU-CDG was showing Z3 but I could not price it on ITA, AF or DL.com. I lowered my quantity from 3 to 2 then to 1. All 3 sites could price a Z fare with 1 seat. So even though EF said Z3 it was really Z1.
