feel like there needs a PSA stickied in this thread: if you receive a flight cancelation e-mail, it takes some time for the system to update online (i.e. clicking on the link in the email to Manage Flight). If you text via Apple Message (and have the patience to wait) then the agents can take care of any itinerary adjustments.
My flight was canceled twice this weekend, and the agents are able to change the return leg for the number of days impacted without paying fare difference
This is exactly why I do 2 one way flights now,especially in these pandemic times. Flight changes are happening constantly. They pretty much cost the same as getting a round trip and I don't want the opposite leg to be impacted
