We are finding it very difficult around us in metro NYC to obtain guaranteed results within 48 hours of our flight, especially since our flight is at 8pm local and no place is open at the 48-hour mark, leaving us to 36 hours or so. What we have found is expensive ($150 to $250) self-paid tests that are definitely PCR but have the word "rapid" attached to them. Has anyone taken these 1-hour rapid PCR tests in the NY area or elsewhere in the US and had them be accepted by Etihad?

Yes, I have looked at their website and there's some confusing language, for example they list Express Check at JFK as a recommended place but then say that "the Rapid Nasal Swab test is not accepted by Etihad". I looked at Express Check's website and the only rapid test they do is a rapid PCR, and it is done with a nasal swab. Optimistically the website means rapid antigen, but it doesn't say so!
