question--does a purchase on an authorized user card trigger the credit? not another credit just the semi-annual credit? I had 2 cards in my wife's name, but luckily they didn't even look at the cards (as I tapped all of them). but I have had some stores refuse to let me use my wife's card.
yes - credits (most, if not all, but definitely Saks) are by account, and can be triggered by any card on the account, but the amount is combined for all users. I believe the only exception is GE/Precheck credit, which is available for each card.

on physical cards, that makes sense, though I’ve rarely been asked for ID or to verify name, even here in CA where they used to regularly, but don’t much at all anymore. Technically, is one even allowed to sign on a spouses card?

for tap, it’s certainly easier, since they don’t see the name. Especially for ApplePay and the like, where the authentication is really when you add the card to your mobile wallet. I’ll admit I have my wife’s AU card in ApplePay on my phone, mostly to use it when needed for offers that are on her card but not mine.
