Remember, it is 3 hours before the first United flight leaving that day. For example, if there is a flight to IAH at 11PM and ORD at 10PM, it will open 3 hours before the ORD flight. Ran into something like this in LIMA couple years ago, but right now, I think all the SA flights are going through IAH only so not a big issue like it used to be.
