You will likely have better luck with LX across the pond. With little to no free seat selections and mostly blocked bulkhead rows - getting a bassinet location is much higher IMO than on UA. Also ...nicer ride in coach on LX metal than UA. LAX or SFO on LX then UA to PHX would be my choice.
