Have been tracking this...thought it might have been one of very few flights (INTL or domestic) to arrive or depart at JFK (or LGA or EWR)...it had ended up diverting to BUF.

Wondering if it would have been better to delay the flight by a few hours, to buy some time, then having to accommodate pax (assuming there were some on the morning flight from the west coast) from BUF to the intended destination. The snow has largely ended in the area, so now it's a matter of recovery operations.
