The trip was AWESOME.

For the purposes of this thread:

- we took HEX to Paddington and then the Tube to South Kensington. HEX was a LONG walk with lots of stairs from arrivals at LHR and then the transfer from HEX to the Tube at Paddington was also extensive. The train rides were quick and easy. Total cost: 15 pounds per person.

- we took the Tube to Victoria station and then GEX to LGW. Transfers were easier and less tiring with luggage. The train ride was quick and easy. Total cost: 14 pounds per person.

[This part slightly off-topc?]
My takeaway on transportation to and from London: although the "getting there" part went quite smoothly (DCA>JFK>LHR) I far preferred our return journey of LGW>RDU>DCA (typical American Eagle mechanical delays notwithstanding ) I found Gatwick to be far more manageable than Heathrow, and how can you argue with the BA Terraces Lounge... though the Arrivals Lounge at LHR was lovely and the showers were immaculately-kept. Customs and Immigration at RDU was like a DREAM compared to what our other option would have been - JFK.

Again, our trip was absolutely outstanding; I can't recommend MyHotel Chelsea highly enough, and I greatly appreciate the advice and expertise this forum provided.

best, Lewis
