We have Diamond status, not Platinum, but I suppose when it comes to on-site benefits at the hotel, there's really no difference.
On the first stay under my wife's name, no, none of my benefits were applicable. However, it didn't really matter. We were at the Fairmont Jasper Park lodge, so there is no status lounge benefit available at any status level. And we had already booked a Signature cabin, so we weren't expecting or wanting any type of room upgrade on arrival. Fortunately, my wife already had Gold status from having Platinum years ago on the FPC conversion, which was soft landed to Gold after crediting no stays, and then simply extended due to COVID changes in the program. That meant we still got the welcome drinks. Other than that, there really aren't any benefits missed. That was a 3-night stay, and was enough to earn her Platinum right there.
The downside of that, is she earned slightly less reward points on that stay, compared to booking it in my name. And we now have points (and SNUs) spread over two accounts, and some of them are going to get orphaned an expire at some point. Booking everything under one account is just easier.
