I activated and was able to send/receive txts via WhatsApp as well as regular text messages (other texting apps are also supported-see list in one of the photos). Not sure if this is merely a test run or an offer only for Polaris customers, but I loved the free feature and thought I’d pass it along!
I noticed same thing on SFO-SIN and back. Two observations on both flights 1) that option was available and had multiple devices connected with messaging/United app access, with phone and ipad; AND 2) tried to connect/pay for internet on laptop on both legs and it would error out on payment screen. Yet I was fully connected both directions for virtually the entire flight with excellent service. Normally would have been $39.99 each direction
