I've stayed here on/off for almost 2 decades, I have seen how this property evolved over time. This is no Jersey motel. Have you stayed? This hotel host many of the US open players when they played in Queens.
True the bathrooms are tiny and it can get really busy sometimes during check in. But is centrally located, rooms are clean, and an overall decent hotel, especially for Globs (we get treated really well).
As a comparison here are some nyc hotels that i would not recommend that are similar and cater to similar cliental - Marriott Marque, Sheraton NY Time Square, Marriott East Side (permantly closed).

Many of you may not remember, but around early 2000 when I first started staying at Hyatts, this was the only Hyatt in Manhattan after the original Park Hyatt on the upper East side closed. And I think the next Hyatt that opened in Manhattan was the Andaz WS around 2010.
I have no idea what the next iteration of this Hyatt will be but i hope the next one (in this same spot or in the new skyscraper next door) will offer the same hospitality and comfort as this one had for me for 2 decades.
