We're moving overseas, and while most of it is lining up, I have an issue I'm still stuck on. I'm traveling on United from Albuquerque to IAH, arriving early in the morning. I'll be checking 3 large bags, and have one carry on and one cat. On a separate booking, I'm leaving 7 hours later from IAH to Tbilisi, on Turkish.

United has given me conflicting answers as to whether I would be able to check my bags all the way through from Albuquerque to Tbilisi, therefore I'm going to assume that I won't be able to. Assuming I need to collect my bags from the first flight, then get to Terminal D and check back in, is there any sort of transport between terminals *outside* the security areas? Is it all enclosed, or would I need to find an uber, or some such?
