If the aircraft has mechanical problems, I would expect DL to keep it at ATL or fly it to a hub for repair. This would be harder at LAS.
BTW, did it also fly at a noticeably lower than normal altitude? That was my experience with one flight that had a MX issue and therefore flew slowly. <I know, only one vague datapoint>
