SpringHill Suites® by Marriott® Cape Canaveral Cocoa Beach
Stayed here four nights. It wasn’t here two years ago when I stayed at the Residence Inn a block away.
Overall, I was pleased and would stay here again if I needed to be in the area.
6 floors. Three elevators that operated quickly, although I mostly used the stairs. Decent gym and swimming pool with bar. Breakfast actually had hot meats. Plenty of $10/night + $0.70 tax parking.
A few things I didn’t like, but certainly weren’t deal breakers:
1. Only one of the two closet doors had a handle on it. To open the left door, you first must open the right door then reach inside and pull the left open
2. The desk chair didn’t recline
3. Shower door dripped water on the floor after opening (after finishing your shower)
4. One of the two USB chargers at the bedside didn’t work
A couple of minor service issues:
1. 4 pm late checkout promptly granted via chat in the app, but mobile key quit working after noon. I went back down five flights of stairs to have the key reprogrammed. She did it quickly and the app even alerted me that my key was ready. It didn’t work. Fortunately, the housekeeper saw me struggling and opened the door for me
2. At 2:30 pm another housekeeper started banging on my door even though I had the DND sign out and was already granted 4 pm late checkout. Just would not stop banging and I was trying to nap. I sent another message via app chat and the banging promptly stopped with an apology through the app chat
Overall, the staff were very pleasant. There is another hotel being built on the same lot. Looks to be about the same size, but rooms have small balconies.
