A couple of weeks ago the wife and I spent two nights in the Farmington Marriott Hartford, in our opinion, a very-well run full service hotel. (Always receive complete status recognition (w/o prompting) including pre-blocked upgrades to concierge level; lounge access; points posted within days of departure).
FWIW, one night the bottom sheet was fitted, the other night it was a flat. And, it appears they've reinstated automatic turndown service, at least in concierge rooms.
Not about bed linen, but since they're also hotel room soft goods, and in the 'spirit' of this "Seinfeldian" thread, any comments on towels provided in rooms?
The reason I mention this is that the wife noted that Marriott seems to have reduced the standard number of bath towels provided from four to three.
As she points out, that's ok in a single-occupancy situation, but potentially inadequate when two people are sharing a room. Conversely, she noted that there were at least 8 face towels and washcloths, far more than anyone (ot two), can use.
I told her that Marriott, following extensive research, has concluded that after-shower "blotters" vastly outnumber the "wrappers."
