Flew them from Skukuza to JNB on Monday, again, no complaints.. All flights I had have always been punctual, with no unexpected canx.
When Covid hit, their flights to Nelspruit and Skukuza were hit completely, as the 'safari' market disappeared overnight, and so it's good to see them gradually getting back to normal with those routes. I think they're a great regional airline.
In terms of refunds, I cancelled one of my many flights with them during Covid, and am waiting for my refund, they say it could take up to 4 months, which I find a little long, That said, I use them a couple of times a year, so no probs with using a voucher if I so choose, within a specific time.
I think the highlighted part of your post is critical. I have never had any issues with Airlink when I flew them. I agree that they are a solid, well run regional carrier.
However, if you end up traveling during a period where Airlink has to reduce their scheduled operations it can be a problem. Especially if you do not travel within South Africa multiple times annually and can effectively use a flight credit.
