Does anyone have any recent experience of taking Duty Free Alcohol and Perfume via Doha in hand luggage and then onto a connecting flight?

I am planning to get a few things at LHR with all bottles over 100mls but don’t want them confiscated. I know LHR will give me a STEB but I have still heard of many people having them confiscated at security for being over 100mls.
