We werent familiar with T5 and asked several members of staff, all of whom said we needed to take the train, go out thru immigration and back in thru security. Yes, basically as noted by the guides linked to upthread you just need to walk back, and get the lift back down to level -4.
The only way to swap to the arrivals stream would have been to go down to level -2, get the transit, and stay on at T5C when it turns around.
EDIT: just to add now you have found FT don’t hesitate to ask things like that on here if you are unsure. You will get a prompt answer and one that is likely to be correct
