Crazy we are looking for this now as well. Last time I went we stayed at the HI Bloomsbury which was actually nice and well located in that the tube was around the corner, it was quiet and there was a market next door. We will be returning in November and were looking at wither that one again but was heavily lookin at the indigo tower bridge and the holiday inn express near the shard but wasn't really sure of both areas.
