The rest of my AMEX cards have a statement closing date of the 28th of each month. For whatever reason, the AMEX rep said the latest she could set was the 25th of each month. Close enough, but weird that this one can't go to the 28th. Nearly two weeks after requesting over the phone, I still don't see the change reflected on my account. I called AMEX again, and they said it could take up to one billing cycle before it's reflected. Does anyone here know what's up?
This is a common practice among the majority of credit card issuers, when it comes to the first statement. The reason why is escaping me. Your next statement will be normal, though. IIRC, my Skymiles card did this. mia knows all the answers, I'm sure they'll pipe in, in a few.
