I would highly reccomend SeatSpy for this. Virgin are very ad-hoc when it comes to releasing seats. The current trend seems to be releasing very close to travel. For example I was looking for Upper seats to LAX for Feb. There was nothing at all till mid-jan then pretty much every date suddenly had 9 seats available. For PE and Y you'll find better availability.
