Usually in those situations the first stay will post to your account with zero nights and points. Then when you finally check out the entire stay will (/should) post. Often the EQN don't post correctly and need manual intervention (although the spend based points do tend to post correctly).
Based on this I would guess that you won't get the promotion points... but it's still worth a try.
The other thing to note is that the tax piece is rarely automated. Assuming you can't leave the hotel because you're trying to meet a minimum stay to avoid paying city/state hotel taxes - you should be able to work with the property to split your reservation into three - your current stay linked to your WOH account, one night after you've maxed out the promotion nights requirement
not linked to your WOH account and then another stay for the remaining nights that
is linked to your WOH account.
Net effect is that you're still in the property for the minimum period to avoid hotel taxes, you get the promotion bonus and you only miss out on one EQN and one nights worth of points.
