They may be liable to pay compensation if they give less than 2 weeks , though they can try blaming COVID/extraordinary circumstances. But generally the schedule settles down around then

If your flight is cancelled you will usually be rebooked onto an alternative and can accept it or switch online. Their IT isn't great so sometimes goes wrong but live chat on the website works well if you need to select an alternative (though I find the phone not too bad in the evenings UK time)
