Back in September, a number of media outlets wrote on/shared a press release on UA's partnership with Airlink (a regional airline in Southern Africa). I.e.: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...301386644.html

This press release states that MileagePlus members will be able to both earn and redeem miles on Airlink. However, the partner page on UA's website: https://www.united.com/en/us/fly/mil...s/airlink.html, only refers to earning miles, not redeeming them.

How long of a delay is typical between the announcement of a partnership that will allow mileage redemption and actually opening award bookings? And does anyone have any additional info on this partnership?
