5 points short of Gold - Worth going for?

Hello,
Long time lurker, first time poster. Due to the reduction in tier point threshold I have a chance to get gold this year. Will have done 2 CW holidays from Gatwick to the Caribbean so I reckon that is 1120 tier points with the double offer, annoyingly 5 points short of Gold. I live near Manchester so I prefer flights from the North if possible, so is it worth going for Gold in all honesty? Would I gain any benefit if I do not fly BA next year?
As Virgin have not really been using MAN recently I have been going from London, but I tend not to be loyal to a brand. For our big holiday this year we are flying from Dublin and doing several US cities but flying United and Air Canada. We probably do 2 long haul and 2-3 short haul trips per year, but the short haul are always direct from MAN.
So in my circumstances is it worth going for the extra 5 points. I assume the cheapest way is a B2B from MAN to LHR, which would be about £100 unless anyone knows of an easier or more useful way for me. It is a shame Aer Lingus do not count for tier points as that is who we fly to Dublin with.
Sorry for the rambling, but I would appreciate thoughts from experts. TIA.
